Soumen has made Sustech a trusted name in multidisciplinary consulting engineering and project management, providing engineering and technical services of the highest professional standard in Australia since 2013. A Mechanical Engineer with 25+ years of international experience in Piping, Pipeline, Mechanical Engineering and Project Management across Oil & Gas, Power, Mining-Metal and Chemical industries, Soumen is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has put Sustech as a pioneering consulting firm in Australia in the field of Hydrogen, CCS and net zero with his innovative ideas and core strength of technology integration.
John Westover
Principal Process Advisor
John is a principal process engineer with over 40 years of international experience in oil and gas, process plants, power plants, safety studies, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL and bowtie risk-assessment. John has wide and deep experience with hazard evaluation, custody transfer, process simulation, design, debottlenecking, troubleshooting, start-up, project conception, training, and mentoring. His qualifications and study-experience make him a proven problem-solver with developed analytical skills.
David Gilbert
Principal Mechanical Engineer
David has had over 40 years of experience in a variety of industries. Since 1979 David has been involved in all facets of industries encompassing bitumen and oil, gas, pulp and paper, food, fish processing, and minerals processing including zinc, lead, nickel, copper, gold, antimony, mercury, uranium, and cadmium. His expertise includes project management from conception through to commissioning and handover, stress analysis of high-pressure piping systems and vessels, and design of pumping and piping systems.

Prof. Dongke Zhang brings over four decades of expertise in energy research, technology development, and commercial innovation. With a deep background in combustion, fuels, and power systems, Dongke has led numerous initiatives bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and real-world applications. An accomplished energy expert and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, he is recognised as one of Australia’s top 100 most influential engineers.
